SA Taxi violence to be investigated

Violence surrounding Adelaide's taxi industry will be the spotlight of a South Australian parliamentary committee this week.

In the past fortnight there have been four attacks on taxi drivers and two instances of pedestrians being injured by taxis.

A state parliamentary select committee, chaired by Family First MP Rob Brokenshire, will meet for the first time tomorrow to look at how the taxi industry can be overhauled.

SELLING half of the Fort Largs police academy for new housing is not enough.  Family First MP Robert Brokenshire, a former Liberal Party police minister, says the whole site should be sold for housing and a new 10ha academy built on the Cheltenham Park racecourse – set aside for housing development
